I’m a geek. I admit it. I geeked out about this total solar eclipse….geeked out to the point that I scheduled a work trip to get me close to a place where I could view the 100% eclipse.

Have you ever been to Taos, NM? The official website describes it this way: Taos is an art colony, a world-class ski resort, an ancient community and land of Earthships. I describe it this way: Taos is weird and wacky and kind of wonderful.

What is it about jumping in the car, rolling down the windows and turning up the radio that’s so appealing? If it’s faster and more convenient to fly, why is the summer road trip still so good?
I think most of us are this way: we look at the unusual and beautiful things in our home states as places just to take family visiting from out of town.
